Stay Healthy Products are going to rule in the future. If you select that type of products, you shall ‘OCCUPY AND STAY IN THE CUSTOMER’S MIND ALWAYS’ and your business will keep on growing. And if that company has transnational presence, you will go international. Doing business internationally has benefits.

Recently I was talking to a Professor of Pediatrics in a famous hospital in Bangalore in connection with Ganoderma. He had regrets for if he had come to know of Gano a year ago, he would have at least tried it on his father who had died of cancer. He also said, “Patients these days are highly updated on medicine and the course of treatment the doctor is giving. By the time the doctor visits him in the evening the patient tells the doctor about the effects as such of the particular medicine, ADRs (Adverse Drug Reactions), the long term implications on immunity and body function, research about it in various centers and so on. Therefore I have to be doubly prepared to face my patients”.
This statement of the doctor only shows that there is increased awareness among people that they WANT TO BE HEALTHY AND WISH TO AVOID MEDICINES

Awareness among doctors is also taking a shift to simultaneously give along with medicines, products that can improve immunity so that the body is empowered to fight diseases. Medicines can treat diseases and Health Products can treat body’s inherent defense system (immunity). And this integrated approach gets the patient on a faster recovery path. Here lies the business opportunity.

Training Lesson 17 : One Can't Postpone Buying

One can postpone buying a home or car or a visit abroad or even a nice dress. 


However if one is a diabetic he can never postpone buying a related medicine. Else you know what will happen to him! 


Health and medicine are intertwined. Here lies the business opportunity. If you take up for your business any company that is handling medicine or health related products, you shall have continuous flow of business. However there is innumerable competition in that segment.


MLM Health Business
In the business we are associated with, i.e. MLM model; there are only a handful of companies that deal with health related products. Some may have some products relating to specific target markets (like weight management) or ones that give some nutritional value (like vitamins). Their core business products, however is not health related. Therefore when you take up such companies for business you do not get an opportunity to position yourself as “EXCLUSIVE HEALTH MAN”. You only get a fragmented product profile and hit nowhere.


EXCLUSIVE HEALTH MAN POSITIONING
Whatever business you do, you need to be identified with the product you deal. Like someone is known as a doctor, or an engineer or a lawyer or an auditor as professionals, you as a businessman should also be identified with your product. That is what is known as ‘EXCLUSIVITY’. This exclusivity is very essential in positioning you as a businessman. This is ‘CORE VALUE BUSINESSMANSHIP’. 


CORE VALUE BUSINESSMANSHIP
This means whenever people see you, you are identified with the business and / or the product you are dealing with. The core value of the product will establish you as an exclusive person. People, whenever think of that product, their memory cells will automatically trigger your name. That is what is known as ‘OCCUPYING A SPACE IN THE MIND OF A CUSTOMER’ (we will see about this in detail and how to occupy the customer’s mind etc in future lessons). Customer will always think of you when you take up any product of an exclusive nature. Every company is struggling to get a space in the customer’s mind. They take the routes of advertisements, events, packaging improvisation, price advantages, and offer modes and so on. However on top of all these, if the product you deal with offers such an automatic positioning advantage, what else do you need to further your business? 


The question arises like this. “Do I then have to select medical products?”


Health & Medicine Products
We need to understand the subtle difference between the two.


How do you explain this?
When someone is sick, he needs medicine to get back to a healthy situation. But if someone is healthy, he doesn’t need medicine; but requires Health Products to remain HEALTHY (not medicines). Everyone wants to be healthy. No one wants to be a diabetic, an asthmatic, an arthritic and so on. 

These days cost of treatment is very huge. On the other side cost of not going to work on account of sickness is much more costly. Therefore awareness is building up among people 
 ‘TO STAY HEALTHY’

Training Lesson 16 : Products

In Blog 30 Training Lesson 5  we discussed about 3 essential elements in Product Promotion as P P M meaning People (Person) Products and Market. Up to Training Lesson 15 we discussed about various aspects of the first element PEOPLE. From now on we shall see about PRODUCTS.


Product
This can either be Virtual or Visual. Visual products always have the advantage of touch, feel, taste and smell facility. If you have chosen a business product of a Visual nature its an advantage for you. Particularly in MLM business it adds confidence to the prospect. Many virtual product MLM companies could not sustain for this reason. There can be other reasons as well. At the first sight what attracts the customer’s attention is the Visual value. 

Product Sustainability
Sustenance of a product is always due to the satisfaction of customer needs. The feel good factor of a product (namely attractive packing, price etc) may appeal for some time but they can’t take the product to its logical ends nor can it gain and sustain a large market share. Then which type of products sustain for long?

Captive Customer Products
What is this? Any product that makes the customer as a captive (continuous) user is known thus. Consumer goods like toothpaste, bathing soap, tea and coffee are some of them in this category. They have market all over the world. Depending upon the marketing power of the companies concerned, specific brands catch markets and remain as Market Leader in their respective countries or they become transnational like Samsung, Nokia, Colgate etc. But the trouble is as follows :



On top of all these
THE CUSTOMER CAN POSTPONE BUYING MANY OF THESE PRODUCTS

The reason why the customer postpones is because such products do not fit into the ‘CAPTIVE PRODUCT CATEGORY’. Any product in the postponed buying category is vulnerable for shift by the customer. Hence there is uncertainty always as to what buying decision the customer will take at a given time.

Training Lesson 15 : Create An Inspired Team

Income from MLM business as we have seen earlier is a derived income unlike direct income from other disciplines of business. Hence the team you build must be an Inspired Team. For your own long term interests, you need to build one like that.

Woodpecker
A man who was passing by the roadside, asked a woodpecker,
For the past 6 months I’ve been watching you. You keep on pecking on the tree. Won’t it break? Also relentlessly you collect fig sticks. Now it’s not rainy season also. Why do you do that?”
The woodpecker said, “Sir, first of all however much I peck my beak, it will only become sharper. Second, yes I know it’s not the rainy season, but I’m on the family way. In a few months I will deliver my children. If they were to be healthy and safe I have to prepare proper ground for them. Therefore right now on I’m gathering sticks to create a safer nest”.

Ok! Why are you doing this for the unborn ones”?
Sir, if I do this, the future generation will do so automatically. It’s an indirect training. I learnt somewhere that Training is Transferring Power of Performance. My whole generation will protect their clans”.


No one motivated the woodpecker to do what he was doing. It’s self motivated. Its mind was on constant fire. That’s why it was inspired to do what it was doing relentlessly. It was not thinking what the future generation would do for it. It felt that it was its duty to prepare the nest. 

WoodPecker was TASK ORIENTED, 
not RESULT ORIENTED
